I like to believe that I collaborate with the clay, one coil at a time, one silent moment at a time, drawing from the void, the essence of something whole and innocent."

Pam’s artistic practice has evolved over time, encompassing a range of materials and approaches. Earlier work in mosaic and community-based projects reflects a long-standing interest in collaboration and shared creative experience.

Today, her focus centers on sculpture, where clay and bronze offer a way to explore both immediacy and permanence. Her work moves between intuitive making and deliberate refinement, resulting in forms that invite close looking and sustained attention.

Process plays a central role in Pam’s work. Clay allows for responsiveness and change, while the transition to bronze introduces a different sense of weight and durability.

These shifts in material are not only technical—they shape how each piece develops and is experienced over time.

In addition to her studio practice, Pam Brewer has been involved in community-centered artmaking, with projects that emphasize collaboration and shared creative experience.

This foundation continues to inform her approach to sculpture, even as her focus has shifted toward individual studio work.

Working in community, facilitating collaboration with others, reminds me of all that we have in common.  With many hands and hearts participating toward a common goal, finding a place for all the parts and pieces, is a reward like none other.

— Pam Brewer
