Ceramic Sculpture

A selection of ceramic sculpture exploring form, surface, and the responsive nature of clay.

Process

When developing my work, I was immediately drawn to earthenware, the oldest clay body, and it has remained my preferred material. This grounded, malleable medium allows the hands to work intuitively.

It is no surprise that I was also drawn to ancient hand-building methods such as coiling and pinching, techniques still central in many Indigenous traditions. Likewise, when I discovered terra sigillata—the oldest form of sealing clay—I naturally integrated it into my practice.

Though they vary, these materials and processes remain among my most cherished.
